Test Strips to measure OPA strength
Once poured in the tray, the Sanidex OPA solution can be used maximum upto 14 days.
If the colour of the solution changes from blue to any other visible colour, please discard
the solution.
Visually inspect the solution during the reuse life for the presence of precipitate, if
precipitate observed, discard the solution.
Why to Use:
The SANIDEX OPA Solution Test Strips are semi-quantitative chemical indicators for use in determining
whether the concentration of ortho-phthalaldehyde, the active ingredient in SANIDEX OPA Solution,
is above or below the minimum effective concentration (MEC) of 0.3%.established for SANIDEX OPA Solution.
When to test:
Sanidex OPA Solution Test Strips should only be used with Sanidex OPA solution before each usage to check
efficacy of solution & to ensure disinfection efficacy. Before immersing instruments, test the solution.
How to test:
Completely dip indicating pad of the strips into Sanidex OPA Solution. Hold for 2 seconds and remove.
Do not shake the strips after removal. Remove excess solution by holding the strips upright on a paper
towel. Read the results at 25 seconds after removal of solution. Ignore the colour shade on the pasted
portion of test strips. The colour shade of the pad should match with the colour shade displayed as
“PASS” in the below chart in order to indicate that Sanidex OPA solution is effective.
